Apart from your face, acne can also appear on your back, known as 'bacne'. While they may not be a cause of worry, they may cause a lot of discomfort. Follow these 7 tips to deal with back acne.

Sweat can contribute to clogged pores and acne. So, it is advised to shower as soon as possible after sweating, especially after exercise or in hot weather.

Shower After Sweating

If you are struggling with acne, use a gentle, chemical-free body wash. Also, avoid harsh scrubs or rubbing your skin harshly, as this can irritate the skin and exacerbate acne.

Gentle Cleansing

Tight clothing, especially synthetic material, can trap sweat and bacteria against the skin, leading to breakouts. Choose loose, breathable fabrics whenever possible to deal with back acne.

Avoid Tight Clothing

Apply creams or gel-containing ingredients like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid directly to active breakouts. These can help reduce inflammation and speed up healing.

Spot Treatments

Even acne-prone skin needs hydration. It helps avoid dry skin and reduce inflammation. Choose a lightweight, oil-free moisturiser to keep your skin hydrated without adding extra oil.

Moisturise

Try not to pick, squeeze, and scratch acne, and do not even ask anybody else to do that. This can push debris, oil, and bacteria deeper under your skin, creating more room for infection. It may even leave scars and spots.

Avoid Popping

It has natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which are effective in fighting against acne. Dilute it with coconut oil, apply it to the affected area, and leave it overnight.
